Hi Family, We're back!!!!

We are back!!! and ready to kick things back into gear and move forward. We have instituted  a few changes to help us enhance the way we do things, both for our well-being and to ensure that we can move forward with our events on a more definitive level.

One of the first changes that we need to make is that the newsletters will be going our every 2-3 weeks and not every week as we were accustomed to doing. It was simply too overwhelming to get one out every week, answer calls, try to plan events, put on events and deal with all those needing our help. So, for now, we're going to do things in a more responsible manner. We're also going to need a few issues to get the newsletters up to full speed. As you will note, we already have a few events in the works which will keep us busy. Once all that is done, hopefully, the newsletters will be a lot fuller.

We are also going to only let you know about events as they become a definite thing. We don't want to disappoint those of you who count on us. So, from now on, while we may indicate the possibility of something happening so you can think about making plans, the only definites will be the ones we have confirmed locations and plans for.

 WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE our fourth Spiritual Day. We are even more pleased and privileged to have Rabbi Abe returning as our keynote speaker.

"A Day of Healing and Spirituality -  An Afternoon with Abe, part II" will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Congregation Beth David, Lynbrook, NY. Please note the starting time will be at 2:00 PM, with the doors opening at 1:15 PM. There will be a question and answer period after Abe speaks, followed by a group of break out meetings. Refreshments will be served and we will be concluding around 6:00 PM.

Cost for the event is $25 for non-members and at the door. Member's cost is $20.00. Please renew or join for 2009 to receive our newsletters and receive discounts on selected events. All 2008 memberships expire December 31, 2008.

From New York City: Long Island Expressway east to Grand Central Pkwy east to Van Wyck Expressway south to Belt Parkway east. Proceed as indicated below "from Brooklyn".

Long Island Railroad: From NYC or Brooklyn. Take LIRR to Lynbrook station. Walk 3 blocks East on Sunrise Highway to Vincent Ave. Make left  - 1 ½  short blocks to Synagogue.

From Brooklyn and South Jersey: Belt Parkway east to Sunrise Highway exit. Continue on Sunrise Hwy. into Village of Lynbrook (approximately 3.5 miles). Make left turn on Vincent Ave. to 188 Vincent Ave.

From Westchester and North Jersey:  Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridge to Cross Island Parkway south. Continue as directed from Queens (see below).

From Queens: Cross Island Parkway to Southern State Parkway follow signs to Eastern Long Island. Go to Exit 17 South, Malverne. Bear right to into Hempstead Ave and proceed approximately 2 miles to Merrick Rd.

Make left on Merrick Rd and go 3 blocks to Vincent Ave. Make right on Vincent Rd. to parking lot on left side.
