RSFI'S SPIRITUAL DAY OF HEALING III A HUGE SUCCESS!!!
We are pleased to say that our Spiritual Day of Healing and Recovery III was a huge success. From the evaluation forms our attendees were extremely pleased with our keynote speakers, Rabbi Hirch "Teddy Bear" Chinn and Rabbi Barry W. as well as the variety of workshops and the quality of the workshop leaders that led, Glenn K. Audio and Choices Book Store as well as the food served made the day an overall success.
Both keynote speakers delivered wonderful heartfelt messages of recovery that our attendees found to be quite helpful for their individual recovery.
I, personally, would like to thank all those who attended. While you received a great of recovery , I got a inner warm feeling for having the privilege of being able to put on the event.
I would like to also thank Glenn of Glenn K. Audio and Jay of Choices Book Store for being there to help make recovery for everyone a little easier. I also want to publicly thank Rabbi Diamond of Congregation Beth David for all his help in making the day possible.
My only hope is that someone took one small thing that can possibly change that person's life just a tiny bit so they won't have to suffer any more from the disease of their addiction.
So, it's all about moving up and moving on as our next events are just a few weeks away even as I am writing this. First up, is the September 5-7, 2008, Northeast Spiritual Retreat Weekend in NY and then the September 19-21. 2008, Midwest Spiritual Retreat Weekend II in Wisconsin.
A Snippet of recovery and Gratitude: Hi all. I'd like to take a moment and express my gratitude for all of you who have been so very supportive during my latest bout of heart trouble and hospitalization. While most of you don't know anything about this, I was not feeling well in June and after another round of testing was scheduled to go in for another angiogram on June 25, which I did.
They actually did find another blocked artery and was able to clear the blockage and stent the artery successfully. I was hospitalized for a day and then when I cam home, I realized for the first time how scared and stressed I am these days. I had been doing everything as doctored ordered— food, medicine and exercise and my heart now had a second clogged artery. I was, and still am shocked as I don't understand how something can get worse if I am not making it worse. The week after that I took a spill (talk about stress and more stress) and ended up again in the hospital with what we thought was a couple of broken ribs but for right now I may just have a broken thumb joint—I'll find out more next week when I go back to the doctor's office. It's been a rough few weeks, but by working this program and reaching out for for God and the help of others in recovery, I can say that I am OK and feeling a lot better. So, thank you, one and all, for everything you have done for me!!! Arnie

Our Email Discussion Group. Our email Listserv discussion group for all those recovering from addiction and their family members is open for all to share their experience, strength, hope and Spirituality with other Jews in recovery. There are no requirements to be a part of the discussion, as long as postings meet the guidelines that have been established. Just send your name, email address and a short paragraph introducing yourself to rebnahum@rodfeishalom.org. We will then send you a return email with instructions on how to sign into the group and begin receiving messages from all the discussion contributors. It's another way to become a part of our family and rid you of some of those isolation tendencies.
>We have a wonderful, intimate call-in meeting on Wednesday nights. Although the group is small, the sharing is deep and heartfelt. Those joining us leave the meeting with a sense of gratitude, free-ness and of us being family.
