Hi Everybody,
As you all know,
the Florida retreat and cruise are
fast approaching. The retreat is
next weekend, November 30 - December
2, 2007 and the cruise is December 3
– 7, 2007. There is still room to
sign up for the retreat and as an
extra incentive, if you sign up
today Sunday November 25 thru Monday
November 26 we will waive the $25
late fee. This is a two day only
opportunity. The retreat flyer is
attached and can simply be opened,
printed out and sent back to us by
email or fax. The event promises to
be very exciting.

your passports, your bathing suits
and plan to enjoy the sunny and fun
side of recovery!!!

2) Our
weekly call-in meeting
has changed nights and times.
The new meeting day and time will be
Wednesday, November 7, 2007
,
from 9:00
PM – 10:00 PM EDT , for the meeting
and ½ hour or so for fellowship. To
join us, simply dial 218-486-1300
and enter the participant bridge
code of: 933051. This past
week there was a whole new group
that called in as per your requests
to have the meeting at a later time.
Please join us and share your wisdom
and experience.
The call in
meeting will take place as usual
this coming Wednesday night,
November 28, but take a week off for
December 5 th as we will
be a'cruizin!!!! We will resume
regular meetings on December 12th.

3) Our
organization's brochure is now at
the printers and should be available
for distribution very shortly. It
details our organization, mission
statement and purpose and goals. To
request a flyer, simply contact us
at this email address and we will
get one to you.
4) Our new mail
server should be up and running very
shortly also. This way we will no
longer need to use the gmail system
that messes up all the pretty
picture formats and layouts. More
importantly, we will also be able
to distribute our emails more
efficiently.

5) Spiritual
Day Announcement:
We are pleased to
announce that will be gathering for
another Spiritual Day for Jews in
recovery in ALL 12 steps programs,
on January 6, 2008 , in Lynbrook ,
NY . "Food, Drink, Drugs,
Gambling, Sex and Family: - How to
deal with and without them in your
lives". We are especially pleased
to have
Rabbi
Abraham J. Twerski as our keynote
speaker.
Anyone who has ever heard "Abe"
speak knows that the day will be a
wonderful experience. The flyer for
the event is attached. So, register
early!!!!
RSFI Fundraiser:
So, we have come up with a great
idea for a fundraiser for RSFI.
Rabbi Twerski needs a ride from his
home in Monsey , NY , to the event
that Sunday morning and back home
again. We will auctioning off the
privilege (and honor) for someone to
pick him up and bring him to the
event and then take him back home. I
once had the pleasure of spending 3
hours in a car, one-on-one with Abe
and it changed my life. As it stands
now, our opening bid has come from
MP in Brooklyn who bid $54. To
submit your bid, simply reply to
this email. The auction will remain
open until Wednesday January 2, 2008
. Great way to help our organization
and get something out of it for
yourself!!!!!!!!
6) We are looking
for more of your ESH. We are
starting to collect snippets of
people's recovery to add to the
newsletter. Any little experience
that any of you may have had that
enlightened you on your road on
recovery is welcome. To submit your
story, simply email it to me at

Our goal is to start publishing them
by the end of the month.

Midwest Retreat
Progress:
We have received
and signed a contract from a venue
in the Chicago area to put on a
spiritual weekend retreat and we
will forward the event information
to everyone shortly. The event is
scheduled for the weekend of March
7, 2008 . The idea alone is
generating a lot of excitement and
we already have 6 people who have
requested registration forms!!!! We
will keep you informed as more
details avail themselves.

Spiritual Thoughts for the Week:
Peace of mind is
better than gold and just as
precious. But unlike gold, peace
comes when we ask for it and let it
happen-not when we go in search of
it. We look for a time to be
peaceful. But what may seem to be a
waste of time can be just what we
need-a spot of sunlight, soft
breezes, the sounds of locusts
humming in the night. The little
things calm us and bring us rest.
But the best comes when we release
our hold on little cares, the voices
that tell us how bad things are in
the world-and just let peace seep
in. Nothing so becomes us as
stillness and quiet serenity.
Nothing so aptly furnishes the
background music like nature, the
mockingbird's midnight song that
expands our boundaries and enchants
